This Life-Sized Carved Statue Is Almost Finished

Hello, Friends,

As many of you are aware, Brian has been working on a life-size statue of Cornelia “Fly Rod” Crosby since August of 2020. Fly Rod Crosby was the first Registered Maine Guide. Carved from a single piece of pine, this sculpture will be displayed at the Maine Outdoor Heritage Museum in Oquossoc, Maine. That’s the stomping ground of Fly Rod herself, in the Rangeley Lakes Region.

The carving itself is done, so all that’s left now is to stain the statue. Brian started with Fly Rod’s hat and hair.
